Decades ago, a brand identity consisted of a mark, a logotype, and a tagline, all placed together neatly in a corner of an envelope. You can’t get away with that today. A brand exists in every form of media. People experience your brand digitally, in print, in environments like grocery stores, and in many other channels, each with its own conventions and restrictions. Today you need something more fluid and flexible, a recognizable, responsive visual language that can be adapted across media. Ideally, you should be able to recognize your brand without even seeing your logo.

What I try to do is design a kit of parts that is recognizable everywhere. If you visit a brand's website, check out its Instagram feed, see an ad in a magazine, or pick up a package, you will see they are all connected. Sometimes you may never see the logo, but you will recognize the graphics.
